My 2014 apparently is way out of date. Now, I like the Nav feature, but paying $150 + & idling the truck for an hour makes me wonder if there's a better/cheaper hack. Anybody help w/ that? If I try an update, is it like "one sync version" at a time, 2 to 3, 3 to 4 etc ? Or one upgrade brings it to current? Do I have to access the radio or is there a USB / SD card slot hidden I don't know about?
Tks in advance!

Your truck has MFT it should have a SD card in it somewhere, mine is in the console towards the front.
MEDIA HUB The media hub is located either in the center console or behind an access door in the instrument panel (below the climate control buttons) and has the following features:
A. A/V inputs
B. SD card slot
C. USB ports
Tks for the input! Found the SD card. Went into settings, could not find SYNC to see version. VIN decodes to SYNC 2, 3.37. SD card is an A5, is that correct or possible someone put SYNC 3 on it? Supposedly SYNC 3 is free, but applied & haven't seen a link come thru. Would love to just buy an A13 card & be done w/it
For the Sync update you do that by VIN from Fords Website for free with a USB Thumb Drive. The Nav just change out the Card.
BTW you have Sync 2 and any 3.0 or 2.1 or what ever is the version of Sync 2 you have and if it is working don't try to fix it.
There are Updates for Sync 2 to update but for the Navigation it is just the SD card. You take the old SD card out and put the New one in and new and updated maps.
There is also a way to put Sync 3 in but you have to change out the radio components
