splash shield question

I know what came on the later "Dents" ...

... but prior to '76, did the trucks have ... or ... not have any plastic inner fender well splash shields like the '76 -'79s?

My 2wd 1976 F100 did NOT come with any. My late year made 4wd 1977 did not either. I have not seem them in any 73-75 in my JY laps.

My March '77 had/has them, the 2 piece rears and the large 1 piece front ones, maybe was an option? I though all had them until looking in a catalog, saw them listed as '76-'79?

I saw the shields are listed in the 77-show room literature as standard but not in the 76 version. Maybe an option. The show room stuff is different than the actual sales ordering book. The last new car I bought the dealer was going out of business and they gave me all the books. The things you could add or delete was amazing. I had to sell the car with 5,000 miles on it and gave all the books to the buyer. Sorry just rambling, the 80's no different than today.
