My truck has Michilin LTX's on it, the size says 31x10.50 R15 LT 109 R. I have noticed and heard the rubbing it has been doing on the little arm thing near the tire on the inside. Its doing it mainly on the passenger side and slightly on the drivers side. It's not bad but I cant turn sharp. Are the tires I have on there too big? Could it be alignment? or do I have to do something else? Im not to good with vehicles so explain in detail. Also there is a slight honking noise after I take off from a stoplight, but not all the time, just when I punch it a little bit. (new tranney in 96)
Thanks, adam
I use the same size tire's on my 93. What's happening is that at full lock(steering wheel turned all the way left or right) the tires are rubbing on the radius arm. It's not too bad of a thing. If you want to correct the situation you'll have to get smaller tires, say 30x9.5 instead of your current 31x10.5. That should alleviate your rubbing problem. I usually turn the steering wheel just far enough that the tires don't hit the radius arms. Just try to plan your turns in advance so that you don't have to cut the wheel so sharp.
i think you still have your stock weels on your truck, and a good solution could be getting a wider (15x8),positive offset weels that move your tires 1-2 to the out side so they don't rub, i like how a truck look's that way,but i don't now if you do either..or if your happy with your weels
