Hey guys, so I just picked up one of the Lightnings and while I dont think it can replace the super duties, for me the time for my 2004 F350 XL CCLB 4WD 6 Speed Manual 6.0 Powerstroke with 250k to leave. The problem is that I really dont know what its worth, the truck is stock, has a camper shell. The driver seat is destroyed, but all the rest are great. It has had a new OEM water pump and OEM HPOP put it in. It really is a great truck and part of me is sad to see it go, but I really cannot justify 3 trucks. It also has brand new OEM Ford Factory(special bluebox calipers and pads) that Ford was selling recently. The starter will get stuck sometimes and I have the normal 6.0 seepage of fluids. It has never had the head gaskets replaced, but Im sure it would benefit from it. What are some base numbers? I understand KBB isnt accurate right now, but I have no idea. Thanks for any and all.
Wow. I have seen some going for $10k, assuming the engine is without problems and the body is in very good condition. Quite a difference from $2k.
For $2k, it would be worth it for all the parts (including harnesses!).
Edit - looking at BB and assuming everything is in excellent shape, the private party number is 6.2k to $9.7k
I don't see why the value wouldn't be in that range - assuming excellent condition.
If the engine needs to be resealed, could benefit from new head gaskets, drivers seat is destroyed, and assuming at it's age will need other repairs (i.e. injectors, alternator, ac compressor, new clutch) you could easily spend more money on this truck than it's worth.
Back in 2017 we purchased a mint 06 6.0PSD with ~150k miles for $6k for farm/ranch use.
I do think prices have gone up in the last 5 yrs though. How much - who knows. It may depend LARGELY on where you live.
If the front seat is the only thing wrong, it doesn't detract a lot. The whole seat can be redone (cushions and upholstery for $350 or so).
Now if more is wrong then it can easily start dropping by thousands! The A/C is certainly a "biggy".
If injectors have been cared for, then they still may be fine. If they aren't, then as stated above - you are looking at a very big cost.
