Help I.d my truck

Hey guysSo I have a 71 f100
but every 71 f100 I've seen online they all have the gas tanks in the cab, mine is under the bed , and my bed has a utility box on the passenger, I figured the bed was swapped from an f250 mabey, although there is no evidence that a gas tank was ever in the cab , my seat pulls down and there is a bone stock compartment , and I stripped the paint and where the gas cap was supposed to be is solid steel no Bondo .
I'm completely puzzled

And while you’re at it, what is the VIN and what do the certification label on the B-pillar and warranty plate on the door say?

Was just thinking just the same thing about not having an in-cab tank, but didn’t realize it was an optional thing.
Because the half tons had the wider frame I thought they got the underbody tanks sooner than the 250s with their narrower frame did.
But with so many changes over those few years, I can’t keep track of anything in my mind anymore.

You are thinking of 73+ having the wider frames. 67-72 F-100/250/350's had the same 33 1/2" frame width behind the cab. 73-79 F-100/150 2/4wd and 73+ F-250/350 2wds had 37 1/2" frames. 73-77 F-250 4wd's kept the narrow frame width. 77.5-79 F-250/79 F-350 4wd's got the wider frame width.

Help ID my brothers truck

I was hoping one of you experts could help me identify year of my (deceased) brother's truck. I am thinking 69 but not entirely sure. Anybody want to weigh in? Thanks in advance

Grill is 68 or 69. Have a VIN from the door tag?

Thanks. Sadly no vin tag. The truck is long gone. I'm just taking a trip down memory lane. The picture was taken at my brothers wedding in 1972. Although the photo is grainy you can see me standing in the background at age 13...haha!
