Truck wouldn't start this morning, turns over but won't catch. No codes no lights.
I pulled the spout connector and it fired right up ran fine.
Shut it off and started it several times no problem.
Replaced the spout connector again no start.
Pulled the spout and it fired right up. I plugged the spout back in when its running, no change ran fine.
Shut it off, with spout in no start.
Any suggestions other than a book of matches?
I shut it off after putting the spout back when it was running again no start.
Is there any reason I cant remove the spout set the timing where it runs and drive it
I recently replaced the ICM. Had a grey one put in a black one.
Will check for spark in the morning. Is it worth putting in a scrap yard computer.
This thing is on the block as soon as I can get to run
A visual check is about the best you can do. There are to many variables for a salvage yard PCM to work without getting very lucky. Try to find one with compatible year, engine and transmission.
Cranked over with the spot removed got no spark.
Pulled the spout took it for a drive it ran better than it has in awhile.
Seems to have lost the issue I've been dealing with in my other thread.

If the computer is causing the problem, you have taken the computer out of the loop as far as timing is concerned which was already stated in previous posts. At this point, I think, you should be searching for a replacement PCM/ ECM. I would go with a remanufactured computer versus junkyard/used since it seems like most people on here had decent success with them and you will have a warranty if there is a problem.
Could this situation be related to the new ICM (black one) I put in a month or so ago.
Should I try another ICM (black/grey)?
$150 ICM is going to be cheaper than a rebuilt computer I'm sure.
Your truck requires a black ICM. With the SPOUT in the computer controls the spark/timing signal to the ICM. With no spark SPOUT in typically points to a bad computer.
Remove the SPOUT, then that new black ICM is triggered off the raw PIP signal. That's why you now get spark. Another new black ICM is most likely going to unnecessarily thin your wallet.
