TPMS Transmitter Sensor Question

Hello,

I've searched until blue in the face, and can't find answers.

I have a 2022 F250 and am pretty sure I installed the previous generation trailer TPMS kit. But the dash displays only pressure, and the tire temperature screen shows no data. It's my understanding that display of temperature was introduced in 2022 MY, so I think the transmitters i have only send pressure.

I think the transmitter part number I need is HC3Z-1A189-D.

What I have now has 2 part numbers stamped on the sensor:
- HC3T-1A180-CB
- HC3T-1A150-CB

Here are my questions:

Can anyone confirm that the HC3Z-1A189-D indeed transmits both temperature and pressure?
Can anyone confirm that HC3Z-1A189-D is backward compatible with the receiver I have, part number HC3T-1560-AA?

I have asked two different local dealers, they are clueless. I called Schrader TPMS, no help there either.

Thanks!
Rich

My 22 came with sensor housing part # Lc3t-14h150-aa. It's supposed to be for temperature and pressure. I haven't gotten it to work yet.

Rich, we've talked in another thread but I thought I'd summarize here since this thread is likely to get a lot of search result hits.

The receiver I have is part number HC3T-1560-AC. The sensors I have are part number HC3J1A515ACSUB7. As you can see in the next two photos the pressure and temperature are working in my truck.

Tire pressure started at 80 psi, these are the values after dropping pressure to connect each sensor.

Scrolling to the next screen down, these are the temperature values. They seem legit because the right side was in the sun.

For what it's worth, those 2 screens have been in my truck since I took delivery in August, 2021. And in case it makes any difference, it's a 2022 Lariat ordered with the "Value" package, UTT Cameras, 5th wheel prep, and the customer installed trailer camera/tpms system.

Good luck, and let us know if a different sensor solves your problem!

The sensors from my 2017 trailer kit transmit the temperature. My truck and the receiver simply don't do anything with it. My handheld TPMS tool can read the temperature on the sensors.

My guess is that your sensors are OK. It's the receiver.

I have the tpms/camera system that I purchased in 2018 and used it on my 18 F350 w/o an issue. Picked up my new 2022 KR dually late Sept 21 and hooked up my trailer reprogrammed the sensors and got the tire psi but nothing on the temperature screen. Asked my dealer if they knew what was needed to get the trailer tire temps and got we don't know. Have spoken to 3 different dealers and have had the same response that the kit (part#'s) for the tpms/camera is same for the model yrs 2017 to 2022. Gave them the # for the sensors that ends in sub7 and have been told that is an engineering # not a part # and again they all say the sensors are the same as well. Very frustrating as I don't want to go and spend the $ on new sensors or a new kit if no one can say that will solve the problem and will display both the trailer tire psi and temps

You may already know this, but after the initial setup was done on mine the pressure and temperature screens don't show any values until I'm rolling, just dashes.

I get the trailer psi readings when heading down the rd but when I switch to the trailer tire temp screen there are no readings. It must either be a programing issue, the tpms sensors or the tpms receiver. But since I have the screen for the temps, can't see it be a programming issue and no one at Ford can say that the tpms sensors or receiver are different parts from what came in my kit in 2018. Infact all the parts folks say the kit is the same part# for 2017 to 2022 Superdutys

My bet is that it's the receiver. Find a shop with a professional TPMS sensor tool and see if they can pull the data from a sensor. My Autel TS601 will pick up the temperature.

Update

I took my truck and trailer into the dealer. They had a trailer camera/TPMS kit laying around, swapped out the TPMS receiver in the trailer and problem solved. I now get both trailer tire pressure and temperature on the display. So I guess my kit had an obsolete receiver even though my kit part number matched that of the dealer's kit.

Good deal. Great to hear you got it resolved and the dealer didn't give you the run around.
