2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Order, Price Protection Details Revealed
Hey, folks, Michael here from the front page editorial team. I do most of the original truck, SUV, and Mustang reviews here at FTE.
Not sure if this has already been mentioned here in the forum, but FYI, if you had to "extend" your Lightning reservation earlier this year after a particular trim sold out, Ford is going to honor 2022MY pricing despite the 2023 increases -- https://www.ford-trucks.com/articles...ails-revealed/
On a personal note, I just ordered my Pro yesterday.
Rapid Red Metallic, Max Trailer, Trailer Tech, and Tough Bed. I was wave 3 earlier this year and just missed being able to order then.
I'm not sure I would have ordered it if it wasn't for this Price Protection situation (which is pretty nice of Ford, IMHO). Not only are the MRSPs up by $6K-$8,500, but most of the packages are more expensive AND Ford just started charging for the mobile power chord.

Congrats on your Pro, excited to hear your feedback. I have been documenting my adventure thus far, pretty great. I wanted a Pro or XLT, but they were all sold out. I think personally Ford should focus soley on the Pros, and not so much luxury items. The SR is likely plenty for 99% of the USA in my opinion. The one piece of advice I can give is to not drive it like an ICE truck. This was my first EV and it became very apparent that the driving style required to maximize efficiency. If you dont have a 50 AMP drop with NEMA 14-50 at the house or a DC fast charger close I recommend getting it installed asap. Cant wait to see it!
