I remove my caps using one of those orange wratchet straps and a piece of wood. hook the cap using the wratchet strap hook, tie the other end of the wratchet strap to a wooden stick....put the stick on the ground...use your foot to keep the stick steady....yank on the top of the stick as if the stick was a lever....the cap will come right off.
I haven't found the caps too difficult to remove. I just think they look cheap and bulky.
Hi all; I did a search and found little other than the fact that the plastic wheel caps seem very difficult to remove. I plan on removing them permanently and would like to replace the factory front lug nuts with high quality chrome or stainless nuts. On the back, I will either do the same and just paint the axle or find a SS center cover to cover the axle hub but not the nuts. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dave
Great video on You Tube by Arod at PowerStroke Tech Talk. He shows how to use a piece of 2x2 to pop them right off. I had some 2x2’s around here. Cut two pieces to about 24”. Keep ‘em in the truck. Works very well. I don’t receive anything for recommending him. One of the sharpest techs around.
Thanks, getting them off is one issue, but ultimately I think they look cheesy and probably make it more difficult to get an air chuck in there. I've ordered some lug nuts and I think I'm just going to paint the rear hub black.

1997 OBS Ford F-350 CC LB Dually/ 7.5 Eng. I have notice this isn't a thread that pertains to (OBS) Old Body Style,1990-1997 Ford F-250, F-350
on this Forum, at least not listed for what I have seen? On a second note I've been trying to find if anyone on this forum has a
simulator vehicle as listed above with stock rims (16"x6.5") and have changed them over to 17", 18" or 19" rims? I would think if
you kept the dually set-up they would rub without spacers?
