At first I thought it was a roadblock where he couldnt remove it, I see now that he was in the process of removing it and was commenting on the yuck but it wasnt that he couldnt get it off lol.

Smelled you say? Wonder if it wasnt actually a bunch of yeasts/molds and food source(sap/sugar)
maybe could have made some beer or wine if there was enough (joking lol!)
Most people dont think about it, but fungi kingdom here on earth is kind of the top-dog of everything. its here before us, it will be here after us, and its the thing that will reap our remains. It will always be there, omnipresent. If it sees an opportunity it may just strike. (Fungal infections being increasingly more dangerous esp after surgeries etc.)
