What brand bed mat will fit a '22 SD CCSB with full width rubber to the wheel wells?? Any suggestions or experiences?
My camper is 48" and the distance between wheel wells is 49" ish. Am using a used one I had that just isn't wide enough.
Lots of folks trim horse stall mats from Tractor Supply to fit. I use a Dee Zee which is cut perfectly to fit in our long bed. Expect the same in a short bed.
Pretty much what RV said.
In my opinion, Stall Mat if you need the height over the cab, Dee Zee if you don't. Dee Zee will save a little weight as well.
In my 96 I used a stall mat, but then put it back in the horse truck and used a 4X8 piece of 3/4" plywood with a hole cut in it to fit over the goose neck plate and chain anchors. The stall mat had just enough compression that the top of the chain loops would bulge and contact and mar the bottom of the camper and I was afraid I would hit the wrong bump and put a hole in the bottom of the camper. Eliminated that concern with the plywood.
in the 2011 F350, I have the custom Dee Zee and I've never looked back. Works well. With our 2020 Lance on the the 2011 we have too much clearance over the cab. Stall mat or plywood would just exacerbate that. Dee Zee at 3/8th works very nicely with adding minimal additional height.
I use 2' Foamular (yep that really light insulation board - available in varying thickness) and a standard rubber bed mat to cover it. Don't use foam board by itself because you need something with a little compression (softish rubber, not dense rubber, and the foam board doesn't compress enmasse) and the typical pickup bed mat is good for that. It's also extremely easy to cut the foamular to perfectly fit in the bed. IIRC Foamular 250. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Owens-Co...DNGX/315197962
I've done stall mat as well as DeeZee bed mats. Stall mats weigh a lot!
I have Northern Light which sits a little lower than most TC and with the taller cab than most 2019 Ford my bed needs a lift - that's why the 2' foam. When I had a Lance it didn't need the extra lift.
I don't have a slide-in camper but I do keep a stall mat in the bed of my truck. That stall mat is very heavy. I'm 155 lbs soaking wet so that may be part of the problem, but wrangling that mat in and out of the bed is no fun. If I was iffy on cargo capacity I would be looking for a lighter alternative to stall mat. I think mine is 4'x6'.
Thanks for the replies, I ordered a new DeeZee mat from Amazon and hope it fits well.
I built a riser with 2x2s in the grooves in the truck bed to the weight is on top of the box frame cross pieces on top of the truck frame and plywood on top of that, probably overkill but... I have 2 1/2" for a riser with the mat and fits well.
The used/cheapo yard sale bed mat I had was the same 48" wheel well width as the camper so the camper had to be centered perfectly, not sure what it fits.
That clearance looks good - my 2019 has the "Shark Fin" antenna for the cell and sat radio so I have to go slightly higher with the bed 'lift' (foamular) in addition to the Northern Lite sitting lower, etc.

With my 2020 Lance, on the 11 F350 I have nearly 6" of clearance, 5 over the clearance lights, which I think is too much. The only thing in the bed for the camper to sit on is the 2/8ths DeeZee mat.
As far as Lance Campers go, It is my understanding that Lance increased basement size with the 2017 or 2018 year models for several reasons including clearances over the cab of the new (2017 plus) Ford Pickups.
On my 96, the clearance over Cab is over 8", but I do have to have the 3/4 inch piece of plywood with the goose neck carve out to keep the bottom of the camper from getting a whole punched in it. This pickup does not normally get used for this camper.
