Good day folks, I just joined up, I was reading through some of the topics and felt it was time to get off the fence and join in. I recently acquired a 1968 Ford F250 and I would like to do much of the work myself, while somewhat mechanically inclined (as a kid worked on my dad's 1965 F100 frequently with the help of Chiltons) I do need a ton of help in figuring some things on my new truck. And in the process hopefully my own experiences will benefit others in the same boat.
My name is John Morris, husband, father of three, Land Surveyor by day, woodworker by night and weekends, and add to that, a 1968 Ford restoration amateur. I live in Southern CA, at least for the next several years till I retire and then we are headed for flyover country somewhere away from the chaos and crime. Our middle child daughter is in the ARMY, our oldest girl is on her way to wonderful things, and our youngest child son, is joining the Army in October, soon wife and I will be empty nesters, and ol dad needs something to keep him occupied like an old truck will, along with my woodworking and honey do's.
I love shooting black powder revolvers and 19th and 18th century long guns flintlocks and such, we fish now and then, and I love tinkering in my garage/shop. Thanks for the join up here, I hope to learn from the experienced truck fixer upper guys and ladies here, I'm going to need all the help I can get.
Thanks for having me.
Welcome to FTE. That has to be the most complete introduction I have seen. It sounds like a very well rounded resume.
As you wander around the site, don't forget to join the Southern California State Chapter.
Well ya'll did say, "Tell us about yourself", so I did. Not too interested in joining any So Cal chapters at this point, hope to be heading away from this dreadful state.
Thanks Cathedral, what a site! So much information here from you all, it's overwhelming, but at the same time it's comforting to know, the answers are all here too.
