Is there clearcut instruction info on doing this mod to a 64-Ford truck? My single speed is way too fast for light spritzes or light rain. I know you gotta change the motor unit out Thanks
No idea about instructions but my truck has a 2 speed motor I pulled out of a 78 F150 and a delay module and switch I bought off of eBay from the same vintage truck. I don't remember details but it wasn't to hard to figure out.
I believe it's only really easy 'plug-n-play' if you have a 1965 or 1966 with factory two speed wipers. Mostly so your truck has the correct male plug as part of the factory harness. If you look at @ultraranger post at the link below (where has he been?) the red male plug that goes into the back of the switch. It will be a similar plug that currently goes into the switch that will instead plug into the black female connector on the other end of the delay harness. Without the comparable plug it may not be as easy. Some people have even found with the correct plug they had to swap a couple of wires around. I suspect that might be 1965 and some early 1966. Later 1966 though many later years (1989?) used a newer wiper motor that may have been wired slightly different.
Yes, they are talking about 1967 and newer in that article, but some of the mid-year 1966 trucks were wired the same. If not wired the same, it's not going to be plug-n-play but may be able to be sorted if you can rework the wiring. It'd probably get the correct connector from the main harness from a 1966 or newer that has the correct connector just to help with the process a little if doing this on a 1964 or older.
