Intermittent rough idle and engine shuts off while driving
Had been experiencing intermittent rough idle for months, and in the last 10 days the truck would die while driving. It always restarted immediately.
A search of past posts pointed at the Cam Position Sensor (CPS) so I replaced and so far so good. Rough idle seems to be gone and it has not stopped running yet.
Funny thing is, per forum advice I've had a spare black CPS sitting in the glove box since 2007. My original black CPS gave me 316,000 miles before it gave out.
