i have had so many rc planes i think i have lost count. from real small ones with tiny little motorsd to my skywalker 2 with a 10 foot wingspan powered by a 1.60 cu satio 4 stroke engine, i love flying. the hardest thing is the landing. after you master that the sky is your playground, contact your locasl hobby shop they will have the list of the local clubs in your area. i know our club has alot of good guys that will spend a few saturdays teaching you how to fly, and with buddy box radios now you will not have to worry about having dumb thumb and spikeing your plane while you learn. after you master that top wing trainer i suggest you get a sig four star, they are a great 2nd plane.
I have one Gas plane that I have never flown. I fly all electric, I love building scale WW1 models. I had thought about Nitro/Gas cars or planes.. but around here there isn't anyplace that you can do anything with them - they are too loud. It would be cool, though, they are pretty fast!!
I just got the parts to fix mine, put it back together. Took me about 2 hours to dissassemble and re-assemble the truck. I had to take almost the whole front suspension apart to get the steering pieces changed. Not a big deal, just time consuming. It's fun to do that though I enjoyed it. I got it running again, drove it for about 15 minutes today to see how it would do. The alignment is a little screwy now, and the toe in-out is not exact, i'm going ot have to adjust it. It'll drive ok on the dirt but on pavement it doesn't handle too well right now. I went off my first jump with it too, pretty fun.
Go to Traxxas.com and click "online community" then "message boards". You can ask questions and find out if your older T-maxx can accept a TRX 2.5 swap. The 2.5 is an excellent motor.
yeah, actually the plane i crashed is a 4 star fourty by sig with a .40 LA engine by o.s. engines. Then i figured i would be flying for a while and i bought a futaba 6xas or whatever its called, but its pretty sweet, i just wanna learn how to fly it and land it right, and we do have a local flying club too, key city bald eagles i thinK? I'll probably try and get a flight or two in before the snow flies
I'm kind of out of the RC trucks but I'm really getting into the RC planes. I built a Sig Kadet Senior last spring. Put it on floats. Powered by a .40 4 stroke. Neat engine, runs great. Haven't really flown it yet. Just some short skips. Tore the floats off once.
Now I'm starting to build a DC-3 RC. Should be fun. I just need someone to teach me to fly it. Flying an RC plane is sometimes more difficult than the real thing.
i got snow skies on my big stick 40 they are a blast i fly it every year at the frozen fingers flyin in des moines iowa. hey for learning how to fly may i suggest the program called REAL FLIGHT, you can get it at www.towerhobbies.com , it comes with a controller you hook into your joystick port, i suggest it to anyone who wants to fly and doesnt have any good pilots around to teach them, i used to use it to learn new ways to ratlle my wings on my spitfire, i love warbirds, it is all i mainly fly, i got my spitfie 40 and a spitfire 60 also a foulke wolf and a p-47 with a sweet 90 in it, i got a coursiar thats been thru a bean patch or two., my p51 is retired and hangs from the ceiling now in our club house, i always thought rc trucks and cars were kinda fun if i going down the road and see one i might take a 2nd glance but if i see a rc plane doing some cool stunts i might stop and watch awhile. planes are cool. good radio and motor, although i perfer the fx model os 46. little more punch and better bearings for the buck
I started RCin' with a Losi buggy, converted to Stadium Truck. Had a blast with it and even won the one race I'd entered it in.
Sold that and got a RC10T (the original one!!) That was even more fun, so I figured, what the heck, I'll get a RC10GT. That was a blast, but them nitro's take to much maintenance !! Ended up sellin' it 4 months after I bought it.
About a month ago I just got the 10T back out after about a 5 year hiatis in the attic (The truck, not me ) Charged up the old batteries and took it out for a spin. Still just as much fun as ever !!
Kinda sux now though, cause all the tracks that were around here aren't anymore !! I gotta head down to one of the local parks and see if they still got the BMX track, or just be content with buzzin' around the backyard
Another good site for RC's (cars, trucks, planes & boats) is Radio Control Zone
Well my post disaperd again.. I am done.. but does anybody have a X-Factor?? I have seen them thought it was pretty cool but never seen one in real life..
