So I've been hating my composite headlights for always now, and a few months ago I had the idea to go backwards to get forwards. The aftermarket LED sealed beams seem to have come a long ways in the last 5 or so years so since these trucks came with sealed beams from the factory I figured easy peasy right. I'm not so sure. I found the required parts from Rockauto to the tune of nearly $150 to get them to the house and I would still need to source some hardware and buy the LED's. Add in the fact I was still going to be stuck with the park/turn assemblies that in my opinion are plastic garbage that look kinda janky w/ the factory sealed beam setup. So I tap the brakes but still keeping the engine warm window shopping the Googleverse when I notice the integrated turn signals some of the LED's have. Me likes, wheels are turning again then I come across some of the dual headlight sets and I know my wallet is screwed now. 2 LED headlights are good so 4 just have to be freaking fantastic right. The only rub is how do I get them in there, lined up a legit. Here's where the genius or drunk bit comes in. I'll retro some from and older model. So Sunday night past my bedtime and the legal limit I find these beauties on ebay. A complete matched set of dual rounds from a 1976 Ford Ranchero. I've always been a softy for the old Ford round headlights and they're from a Ranchero, kinda a pickup so meant to be. Plus the price was cheaper than the factory setup so there's that. So Genius or Drinking Problem?
I did the backwards to 5x7 led... parts were < 50 $ at salvage yard.
My first thought was the salvage route but the local yard doesn't actually want to sell parts. Out of the 6-8 time I've gone there looking for something over the last 15 or so years he's only ever sold me 1 yes just 1 tailgate hinge bolt. Just the bolt and it wasn't even the same head type, but the threads matched. Then he wanted $5 for that 1 efing bolt. So yeah no salvage option in my area.
That's not a bad look at all. It's got a little bit of the '79 Bronco/F Series vibe. Man them 70's trucks were tuff. Don't clean up to bad either. I had a 72 F150 Ranger Sport in my early 20's. It had the 390FE a C6 auto and 3.50 rear 9" and that dude would scoot, right to the gas station. 7.5 mpg
Some of the best ideas have been conceived with a bit if alcohol involvement, mind you so have some of the worst.....

Thank you sir. I have long thought, I do my best thinkin when I'm drinkin.
On the serious side, I think this sounds like a fun project, to watch... I hope it works out for you and you have a unique headlight configuration.
On the WTF side, hold my beer!
Like most of my ideas I'll say this one will either be a complete success or a complete disaster or or any combination in between.
As for your WTF, my first response was "What kind of *******". Then realized I could totally see the group of morons I belong to doing something like this back before we got old and half broke down.
If you make your own bezels, you might be able to fit 3 in there. 2 are good, 4 are freaking fantastic, 6 are... Break out the bourbon and figure it out!
