I've seen the side moulding for dentsides called thick (with the vinyl insert) and thin (what came on my truck), but I also keep seeing references to "racetrack moulding." Dennis-Carpenter shows a picture of it that looks a lot like the thin moulding on my truck, so I'm just wondering if the thin moulding and the Racetrack moulding are the same thing.
Thick with vinyl insert AND race trac trim. The race trac trim has a black painted center strip in a small indention.
Thin trim or thin side moulding in the dent, it just anodized trim WITHOUT the vinyl insert and much smaller.
Thin trim rarely seen in a JY.
And thin trim on a LB again rarely seen.
... etc ... so I'm just wondering if the thin moulding and the Racetrack moulding are the same thing.
Thanks
No, they aren't. I've never seen the "thin dent molding" with the lower race track molding.
The "wide dent molding" with the rubber insert came both alone ... or with...the lower race track. It is the same wide molding either way except for the very last short piece that surrounds the rear marker light. That piece can be swapped out with care.
Yeah, it's the stuff on the yellow truck or that light blue fender. Thanks Dennis-Carpenter for the incorrect info! (This is the page and image that confused me: https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/tru...or-l-race-trak)
I have never seen thin trim and race trac trim on a truck and I have never seen the thin trim on a 78/79 Bronco. The DC add says RACE TRAC trim, so it is NOT the trim that goes in the dent.
