HPOP replaced with no change. I definitely have more power but still no boost (maybe 6psi wide open) and EGTs climb faster than my RPMs gets to 1300 before I get to 3k.
What is the edge filter?
i guess none of this thought of this dumb thing.
you check your exhaust for obstructions?
It does have an upgraded exhuast on it right?
the only other thought i have that isn't fuel related or oil related is up pipe leaks or manafold leaks.
Thats more expensive hard stuff.
new IPR, new manifolds, new up pipes, new downpipe (and currently only a down pipe)
smoke test passed with flying colors.
Could this be a mechanical issue, like a blown headgasket.(not seeing oil in coolant or water in oil) I checked all the push rods when I did the injectors. I find it strange that every stage I feel a power increase but still no real turbo boost. I had 6psi at full throttle in 3rd gear.
I have a similar issue as u. Replaced up-pipes, leak test on intake and exhaust, resealed manifolds, checked map hoses; replaced guage and cut out my muffler. I can hear the turbo better now but only get 10psi full throttle uphill. Otherwise the boost gauge needle doesnt move much.
Replace turbo?
Maybe.
I might give in and take it in to a diesel truck mechanic.
My truck has some get up in it. And it seems like it runs fine but i only get 12 mpg and i should be seeing upwards of 15psi on the gauge.
I have even removed the turbo, did a EBPV delete, and inspected the turbo. It seemed fine. I have never had another OBS PSD to compare to but i did have an IDI and in stock mode it seemed like the IDI could keep up with the OBS which it shouldn't.

Biger oil make the injectors flow better. So better power.
The boost getting stuck at 6psi is sure a headscratcher.
hmm, do you have a stock turbo pedestal?
OKay went back and read you did EBPV delete.
But removed wastegate???
You're running a Super Duty turbo in it??
The only other reason I can fathom you are not making boost is a massive boost leak, or something damaged on the turbo not allowing it to spool, or if you stripped the wheel when swapping it out.
Yes super duty turbo and even swapped turbo and watched turbo spool before I installed intake. I have a buddy bringing over his extra IDM tonight to try that.
Don't know if related problem, but NOW if I do a pull (in any gear) when I let off throttle truck shuts down like I took my foot off throttle, doesn't cut off, it goes to idle for about 3-5 seconds and then everything returns to the way it was.
I don't know if this truck has an electrical gremlin or what but I'm getting very frustrated with my problem child!! I do VERY much appreciate everyone's help and I try to answer posts quickly
You have to swap everything.... SD drivers manifold, SD up pipes, SD pedestal, SD intake spider (and intake plenums if using a 01 02 or 03 spider), custom downpipe using a 97 and a 02 kit. I removed wastegate and welded it shut. I used an 02 intercooler pipe kit (had to extend 1 pipe) from eBay and a CSF intercooler for an 02 SD from Rockauto
When you checked for leaks, have you only used smoke? Maybe try making a leak tester so you can up the pressure to 15-20 psi and search for leaks with soapy water. It sure sounds like there is a leak somewhere.

Yeah, its a bit weird.
There is only so much that can make that happen.
The boost leak detector thing is pretty easy to make, i'd definitely pressurize the system to see how bad the leak is.
It's an amusing upgrade with 0 gain.
Especially when he downgraded back to the OBS wheel.
Most people do the SD swap to run a 38r.
You answer your own quandary, The plan is to install a 38R BUT its gotta run right 1st. I had several turbos and manifolds laying around so I got test fit done for free.
So changed the IDM yesterday with no change, so I went out with my buddy and took notes on all my reading and what tunes I was using.
Then we went out in my dually and compared all the reading.
Now apart from the problem child now having an upgraded HPOP theese trucks have the same upgrades the readings we not the same anywhere at anytime. The problem child looked as of it was running stock, meaning the ECU was not and could not take advantage of the upgrades. Now as to why I'm not sure but after beating on the truck for a bit I got some codes witch I believe leads me down the road of a ECM issue. So off to the rebuilder it went and now we wait 10-15 days

Just.
Curious.
Being that you're suggesting it seems like its running stock.
What chipset are you using?
Did you install the chip?
Did you clean the lacquer off the terminals before installing?
