Hmmmm, my dad's 04, had his changed in 2008-9, when they had the new type plugs out, and peopel knew, they were good, anyway, he paid $1,200.00, because 3 broke, at the dealership, then in 2014 or 2015, the lawsuit about the plugs and pricing, dealerships were getting paid, and this was Ford's Engineers, fault, had been settled, and Ford(not dealerships)had to reimburse people that could show, they had paid more than $700.00 for plug change, dad got back $600.00. I'm not real positive on the 14-15 but forsure by 2017.
$890 for a plug change! I'm sure glad I change my own. I guess I got lucky because I've never broken off a plug and have done them 4 times so far with the supposed latest and greatest MC plugs each time. The biggest PITA was the passenger rear most plug.
It takes a little time and some effort but if you have the $890 to throw away -go for it. The first plug change requires the lisle tool and learning how to get to the hard ones. I do use a little antisieze on barrel and threads but only nickel stuff rated for 2400 f . make sure you replace boots now and then and use a small amount of dielectric grease on each end . 60k on plugs is enough don't push it . Have changed them four times now at 250k . So maybe I have saved over $3500 on plugs alone . Maybe I can get this engine to 350kmiles.
