I was looking for some books about my '53 F100 and ran across several books at Blue-Oval but didn't know what they contain so I was wondering if somebody could enlighten me. The books are:
1953 Ford Truck Body/Interior Assembly Manual - $19.95
48-56 Ford Truck Illustration Catalog - $124.95
48-56 Ford Truck Text Catalog - $124.95
My goal is to put mine back together (someday ) stock, so I'm getting together any info that I can. Any other books that I should get? I've already got the Shop Manual, 48-56 Trucks, Restoring Your Old Ford (can't remember the title off the top of my head ), Owners Manual and Interchange Book. My truck has been partially disassemblied for longer then I'd care to admit and the notebook with pics was partial destroyed and I sure don't remember what everything looked like or how it went together so I could use some (there's an understatement) help. Thanks.
The text catalog has the part# for just about every part you could find for those years(great if you have nos parts and don't know what you have) or if you just want to buy parts.
Illustrations shows how those parts go-together. Both very good and a must if restoring. Before buying, might want to check ebay, as the originals come up quite offten for less $. The body assembly is a fairly nice little book, and for the price might come in handy(never used mine yet). I also like, if you can find, 1953 ford truck parts and accessory's catalog. Ebay that. Not sure exactly what else is out there. I'm more of a 60 guy. -4speed
Thanks for the info, have'nt done the ebay thing yet. Guess I should, hear about some good deals there. Need the illustration guide for sure. Think I'll surf for it now. lol. Thanks again.
The ebay thing is very easy, just make sure you know what your buying. If you want to learn a few tricks, or just have some general questions, just e-mail me at: (insert my user name)@neo.rr.com -the FTE doesn't like you posting e-mail address. -4speed
