I have a 2000 F150 4.6L. I bought this about a year ago that had running issues to begin with. I finally have had time over the past 3 months to work on it. The previous owner had told me that he was having computer issues with the truck, after I had bought the truck. I was getting theft code 16 error. I replaced the fuses and the relays that correlate with the PCM, even though they checked fine. That was not the issue. So I bought a new PCM from flagship one. I am still getting the theft code 16 error. I have checked the wires that go to the PCM and they check out good. I was just wondering how to tell if this truck has a passive anti-theft system to see if this is the problem. Or to tell if the PCM is programed correctly. When I bought the PCM it was new and sent them my VIN number and PCM information.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, or if I missed something. I still have the old PCM and both keys that came with the truck. Truck ran fine when I bought it with some issues, but nothing with the theft codes.
1. All '99 and newer F150s have PATS.
2. You cannot simply swap the PCM (or the cluster) without reprogramming the keys to the PATS system. This MUST be done on-vehicle, it's not what Flagship One programmed.
3. Put the old computer back in for now unless you KNOW it's bad. It *should* work unless you have other problems (not uncommon).
I've discussed PATS and its troubleshooting on this era of trucks a number of times, You can likely go through some of my old posts and find the info you need.

I Found a company that will remove the PATS system from your ECM for 125.00 I am sending in my computer for the modification. I will let you know how it works out.
there advertisement suggests no more expensive .chip keys needed to start your truck.
The computer i am sending them is from a 2001 F150 with the 5.4.
Well i sent my computer to Garrett Tuning Via Fed Ex and they sent it back within 2 days supposedly. with the PATS removed.
The theft light is still flashing, when I sent it in i was code 3 got it back and it was code 16,
I emailed questions regarding whether the theft light was still flashing and was that normal after their service, I got no response, and they didn't. have the curtesy to even respond. Nice website they have but it's. a scam in my opinion.
