Carpet install trick
I am in the process of installing my carpet & have been using a utility knife to cut holes & trim it.
It Is a pain...so I found this on you tube on how to make the holes in the carpet. It works very well and you get nice
clean holes.

I used a soldering iron. Nice neat hole with the edges neatly melted.
