F250 Super Duty Body Mounts

Replacing cab body mounts. Rear mounts, position #4. Discovered the driver side uses a 15/16" socket and the passenger side uses 13/16" socket to remove the bolts from inside of the cab. Is there some important reason for the 2 different sizes? Thanks.

If I remember right the body is thicker on some of the body bolts and has a taper. I believe that’s to center the hole on the cab to the hole in the frame. Maybe I’m thinking the bed. I forgot. It’s been a while that I did body bushings.
Christ who knows. Really there isn’t any real reason to have different hex head size on body bolts. The damn driver and passanger windows are different measurements from front to back on the front doors. Maybe the same engineers worked on both windows and body bolts and were mad at each other

Just a guess, but different heads usually mean different diameter bolts. The driver side might use a heavier bolt due to body flex from engine torque.

Thanks, I know different diameters normally have different size hex heads. One video stated that the 2 bolts were different, but not how they were different.

pretty sure it’s to locate the body to the frame hole mounts on the assembly line. I think the bed has the same bed bolts where two in opposite corners are tapered to locate the bed to the frame
for lining up cab and bed.
