Hello all,
I sent my Ford / Holley "94" carburetor in to Rockauto's rebuild service; wondering if anyone else has used this service, another service or just rebuilt themselves?
The carb is off my 1952 Ford F3 and I tried to clean it out myself (took off top half where float is) but too many ports and jets must be clogged.
Anyway - I will let you know what it comes back looking like (in 6-13 days), but here is a pic of the carb just before I took it off my 239 CID flathead V8.
OK, so turnaround time was quoted between 6 - 13 days (I assumed business days) so if you account for time at Rock Auto before they ship to Autoline for the actual rebuild work, it took a little longer than I was expecting. I was thinking last week in July, and I just got it back 5 minutes ago (6 August). Initial inspection, the carb looks great and everything moves smoothly, very impressed so far. Also provided the carb to manifold gasket, so that was nice too. Here are the pics of the carb out of the box from Autoline:
Wes, make sure you let us know how it runs when you get it installed.
Unbelievable how well it runs - only adjustments I had to make was choke cable (full choke to full off) and Throttle linkage was put on 180 degrees from correct, and that is just a "push, twist, turn 180, push, twist" maneuver and it was corrected. Then just had to have the correct amount of cable for throttle and it purrs. Install and adjustments took about 45 minutes, was on the road shortly thereafter - really smooth.
Thanks,
Wes
