Well I got my Dana 60 9.75" Track-Lock apart in order to change the clutch packs. Much to my surprise, the clutch parts seem to be assembled in the wrong order. The manual (below) indicates the Belleville spring goes on the outside of the pack against the carrier. But I found mine had the Belleville spring on the inside riding on the face of the side gear. Question .. did this possibly change over the years? Or, could mine have been assembled incorrectly at the factory? It's odd because it's possible, but I doubt it has ever been apart. - Thanks
OK in another part of the manual I see them arranged differently. Here the spring is called a "preload spacer" LOL. Maybe it doesn't matter which end the thing goes on.
