If you have ACC, do you still also have regular cruise? My Pacifica has both which seems a waste of buttons. There's only one situation where I can see using the non adaptive.
Ltngdrvr is correct...you can turn ACC off and just use it as normal cruise. It's in the settings menu on the IP though, not separate buttons.
That's perfect. My Pacifica has buttons for both on the steering wheel.
The only reason I could ever see wanting the non Adaptive is if the forward radar is damaged by road debris or somehow inop such that the ACC won't engage. I've had that happen driving through a storm and leaves or something stuck to the radar shield.

If the front radar sensor is damaged or non-operational (blockage or failed) it will default back to standard cruise mode. I just had my front radar module replaced by Ford for this very reason.

That's even better. The Pacifica just says no if you try to turn it on. So then you have to turn on the antiquated version.

This is interesting. I've had my 18 250 on a few occasions fault at startup and when this occurs no cruise will work. It flashes up the warning of a fault or something I don't recall. Regardless cruise is inoperable until a full restart (engine off, door open) occurs. I don't recall experiencing this on my 21 450 to date. Both trucks had acc fwiw.
Every vehicle we have ever owned that had acc also had standard cruise. Some were easier than others to turn on/off. On our current SUV it defaults back to acc after shutting down. At least with the Ford's you can change it in the dash settings and it will retain that setting as it should be.
