We've had Sync 2 (wife's 2014 Explorer, my previous 2016 F250) & Sync 3 (my current 2019 F250) and voice command recognition is humorous at best. Compared to the Google version when connected to Android Auto, Sync is downright a joke.
Is Sync 4 an improvement on Sync 3 for voice recognition or just more lipstick on the same pig?
No experience with prior versions, but the SYNC4 is okay, but not great for voice recognition IMO.
My Pixel 6 Pro google phone has much better voice recognition.
Now, the SYNC4 hasn't failed me for finding places or addresses in the NAV when I used voice commands, but there has been a few times for hands free calling when I have had to say the name of who to call more than once.
I have Sync 3 and I am fairly happy with it's voice command system, especially it's limitations. Those limitations are both privacy and security in my mind.
I don't want to say "Play Elton John" and find I have accidentally refinanced my house. Anything I want done beyond the capabilities of the SYNC 3 system I can plug in my Android phone and get it done with it's various apps.
