But with this most recent truck I did indeed receive an order confirmation email within hours of the order going in. I don't recall the exact time frame but within a week I had been sent a VIN and approximate build week date. From what I've read on this forum, most everyone that ordered received a VIN and build week date sooner or later. Of course the build date weeks were often pushed backward but people at least did receive notices of changes.
Strange that you didn't get the notice. But there have been mentions of email address typos and other human errors that caused buyers not to be notified. All of my notices were directly from Ford. Nothing came from the dealer except when they called to ask when I wanted to come get the truck.

I've seen the delivery tracking thread on this forum and I've wondered where everyone was getting their information. I'm in Canada, so perhaps there's a difference in the order process???

I called Ford Canada this morning to verify my account information so I could login. I currently have 4 Ford vehicles in my name, plus the 2022 that is on the lot is ordered under my name. Below is a screenshot from the "Reservations & Orders" tab under my account.

I was super stoked and didn't think there would be any way to wipe the smile from my face.......until I got closer and noticed something wasn't right. The first abnormality I could see was that the truck was missing the roof lights I spec'd on my build. I began looking over the rest of the exterior and took note that the mud flaps were missing. At this point, these items seemed minor, but then my salesman walked out and unlocked the truck. I opened the door and minor items became one huge disappointment.

Somehow, my order was submitted wrong. On top of the missing items above, the truck has a 40/20/40 front seat instead of the console; it was ordered without the twin panel moonroof; carpet mats instead of the all weather mats, it doesn't have the upfitter switches, and it has a 3.31 axle.

Despite the missing options, the price of this truck is actually $2300 more than the truck I ordered, which is a result of a $4630 increase in the base price, although I'm told if I take the truck I will save the difference in the base price because I was price protected at order.

Another order has been submitted with the correct options, but if the order gets picked up, it will be a November delivery and the price will be $4630 higher (pre 15% sales tax)

Sounds like a whole lot of LIES...order bank for 2022 closed in April....so you won't be getting a 2022...and 2023 doesn't open till October and I doubt the order forms are out yet...they haven't even list actually photo's of what 2023 looks like....something STINKS...

Okay, think I may understand.
The dealer has an order slot in the system already for a 2022 from the OP's initial order that wasn't deleted and hasn't been built yet and that is how they are ordering him another truck, making changes to that order before production to get the truck configured properly.

But, as the OP has already noted, this late in the process, and with many orders going unbuilt due to commodity shortages, I would bet that it won't get built, at least not as a 2022.

And, of course, since this is a Canadian dealer and order, many things may be different than what they do here.
Had the OP mentioned he was in Canada to begin with, the comments would have been different to some degree.

You won’t see anything on that screen… even after you get the truck. If the dealer put your (correct) email address when you ordered then you should have gotten all of the emails. These emails would also have your assigned VIN. If you had that you would have been able to compare VIN’s. With as many differences as there are in the truck you ordered and the one you see in the lot, that’s likely someone else’s order (if it has a green sticker) or a dealer order (if the stickers blue). If that is your actual order… we’ll that’s pretty bad.

If you can get it below MSRP, I would go ahead and buy that truck. Drive it until the next one comes in. You should be able to get more than your money back.

Good point. Which color is it?

Sounds like they may do things different in Canada vs the “States”.

Here in the US I ordered 3 - 2022 trucks, each from different dealers (12/21, 1/22, 3/22) . Each time I ordered I received an email directly from Ford confirming the order was placed. I received these emails within a few hours of the orders being placed.

Unfortunately none of these have been “picked up” yet so I don’t have any idea when I will get them.

I'm in Canada as well, also never got a confirmation email from Ford / dealer when I placed mine back in Sept '21.
Luckily, when I received the truck in Feb '22 it was exactly as I had specced it out, with no missing items like massage chairs, roof lights, sunroof etc..

My truck ordered in Canada had everything except for carpet instead of rubber floor in my 550. I didn’t get anything from Ford, my dealer sent me the vin and the window sticker.

The window sticker is green and the VIN on the window sticker is listed in the dealer computer under my name. It was a mistake by the coordinator during the order and the salesman is ticked off at himself for not following up after the coordinator put the order in the system.....but in his defense, why should he?

We have come to an agreement that definitely works in my favour, and I'm picking up the truck tomorrow morning after it is accessorized. My other truck is in the system, but if it doesn't get picked up for a build this year, I will put in an order for a 2023. Either way, I don't think I'm losing out.

Sounds like they are taking good care of you. That is refreshing after hearing all the horror stories of the crap some dealers are pulling.

use this as an investment opportunity! Buy the truck, take it down the street to the competitors ford dealer, and sell it back to them. You will profit roughly 10-20k in the same day. Then wait till 2023 orders and reorder exactly what you want plus more since you made a profit.

I got a 22 f350 cclb lariat 6.7L coming in 2 weeks. I talked to my local ford dealer and they are willing to give me 12k more then what I paid for it. Its got a 78k msrp, I'm in it almost 72k, they are talking 84k for it! So I will just sell it to them unless I find someone willing to match it that needs a truck.

Unfortunately, this is why we might really need to go through a good recession. This is not sustainable.

Dealers near me are charging +$15,000 over sticker
I've got one coming -2% under invoice...so I'm not hating...but this is going to come crashing down.
