I am looking to repair my vacuum selector for my 1980 F350—it feels loose on the sliding ****, and is temperamental when sliding—the notches one feels when sliding the selector are nearly gone. So it takes precision to get a certain spot working correctly. The A/C is removed, though most of the guts are there. I am not interested in replacing it at this time—I am into a major restoration/repair. At this point, I just want to the heat/vent/defrost to work.
I see at LMC truck they do sell these vacuum mechanisms, but it appears not for mine with factory air? Does anyone know if ANY of those will work at LMC, and if not, does anyone have advice? Below is a pic of my extra faceplate I have that is identical to the one in the truck.
