My '70 was optioned without a radio from the factory. Decided it was finally time to put in a simple sound system. I am going with the volvo style mount and a pioneer single DIN unit. Where I'm running into trouble is the dash speaker. I plan on only using the stock location in the dash, don't want to cut my doors or anything. As my truck never had a radio I am missing the stock bracket to install a radio, does anyone know where I can purchase one?
Secondly, I cannot find any consistency on what radio will fit there. I do not want to remove my dash pad and drill holes as that's too much work for the amount of time that I have available. I found this: https://www.macsautoparts.com/1953-1...RoC2dQQAvD_BwE and was wondering if anyone had any experience on the quality of the speakers or whether or not they would fit in the dash. Thank you!
I am trying to get that same infomation. the manufacture was going to call me back but nothing yet. the speaker is held in place by a backet so no screws you might try Flashback F100 for the brackets

I do not have experience with that speaker, but I may have an extra speaker bracket around here if Flashback F100 does not have one. _ Tony.
As far as I know, the dash speaker bracket had a strange rectangular hole in it where it was basically magnetically held the OEM speaker in place. Because of this, there are only a few replacements--mono 8ohm speakers that will fit that bracket. If you're using that one from MACs, I think it's meant to use screws/nuts from above using the metal grille space and you'll have to remove the dash pad and drill through the metal dash with the hole placement of this speaker.
If you use the Volvo dash kit you don't really need anything else to mount stereo. A full depth CD style radio can interfere with wiper linkage, but the Volvo kit spaces it out. Still I suggest and non CD type that is compact.
For the single in dash speaker, I suggest a single, dual voice coil (DVC) 6x9 over what you have linked. Just hook up R output to one coil and L to the other.
Something like this. Way more cone area, bass response. The stock size is not really 6x9 so you will have to make some type of gasket and deal with mount screws. shouldn't be too bad. Goo luck. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-xbIsvA...UaAiVcEALw_wcB
