Why does it need a new column? Mine was steering really stiff and would not return to center from a turn. So I took off the steering wheel, sprayed a whole can of brake clean in the bearings i could reach...blew it dry with compressed air (all sorts of dirt and grime came out on the floor pan)...then I sprayed a half can of white lithium grease on as much as I could reach with the spray can straw. Turns out, the steering wheel bearings were super dirty. Now, the truck steers like it should. We will see if the cold weather stiffens things back up some with the grease...but right now, its like new.
I thought the 1987-1991 Steering columns also fit into the Bullnose trucks? I don't have 100% confirmation of this, but I have seen more than one Bullnose with a Bricknose steering wheel in it, and I know the lower steering shafts can be swapped between gens. The 1992-1996 steering columns 100% do not fit.
