I have a 2006 F150. Recently I notice that the steering is getting tight. It has tight spots as I turn the wheel. It is loose in between the tight spots. It is not in the same wheel position either. I think there are about 2 1/2 tight spots in 1 revolution of the wheel. It seems like it gets a little better as it warms up. Hopefully I don't need a new steering box.

 

Thanks. I never thought of the joints in the shaft. That sounds very likely. I will check it out.
