Hello, I know that the cable is not available but I was wondering if anyone has gotten one recreated by a company like California Push-Pull, inc? www.push-pull.com It looks like they have the ability to recreate just about any kind of cable. I tried messaging them, but it is not sending it, probably an issue on my end. I don't drive my 86 much anymore, but i still want to keep it working right.
The cable # on the casing is E3TH-180306-AC.
Thanks
If the end breaks off, I just take the original cable and unwind some of the outer sheath, re-bend the end of the cable, and then re-install it. All you have to do is slip it up in a different spot where it's clamped. Like was mentioned also, you can get a universal lawnmower throttle cable and cut it and make it work. Bending the end in a nice circle can be a challenge, but with a piece of metal rod in a vice with some pliers you can make it work.
The casing is cracked and causing it to bind. I'm going to at least see what that place says for making one for me and how much it is. I'm walking a fine line between not spending a lot of money, but I also want my truck to be functional when I need it. Hell, maybe they've made them for others and have what I need on file. i'll keep you guys posted.
Have you tried small gas hose over the split with clamps on either side to have the cable keep its shape.
Also it would help if we know if your truck is AC or non-AC. AC has 1 cable and non-AC 2 cables so would need to know what cablealso..
