I might need a new tank. It's leaking from the top near the roll over valve. But it might actually be cracked in that spot.
Ford no longer makes it apparently. I have 2001 CCLB gas truck. I was looking at Titan and all their tanks say diesel only. Why would that be? Anyone have a recommendation? I'd rather not get a junk yard tank if that is my only option.
EDIT: Called Titan, their tank vents to atmosphere which isn't a good idea for gas. I've done a lot of web searching and can't find any aftermarket options for this truck.
Junkyard bro. It’s your cheapest option. Unless you find someone as in private party who is parting one out and has it pulled already. When I parted out my v 10 i sold the gas tank for $100
get a hand pressure pump and grab some hoses and clamps you can pressure test it. The tanks come off easy at the junkyards. Empty, you can zip the straps off quickly also.
Your other option is to drain yours pull it out, fill it with water and then plastic weld the crack. Pressure test it then reinstall it. Obviously drain the water.
Try Also Car-part.com. Look up by part/region whatever but you'll def find a tank out there....Also try a "take off" yard. You pay to get in, find what you need and either you take it off or for a fee, they will. But give car-part.com a shot.
