5.4 strange noise...........
I own a 2000 F-150 with a 5.4l. When I go to accelerate there is a strange noise, like a whistling noise I was wondering if any of you have a problem like that. The truck only has 48k miles on it so I hope it’s not to serious .

Mine does the exact same thing (2000 F150 4x4 5.4 ext.cab)...I don't think it's RPM related though. When I let off the gas I can still hear it. It kind of sounds like a deer whistle and I can only hear it at 20 to 35 mph. I was thinking it might be the bug shield making the noise.

Well don't think mine is a bug shield because I don't have one on my truck. I only seem to hear it when I accelerate wether I am in gear or not but it does only do it when the truck has been running for a little bit after it has had a chance to warm up. I hope it's just as vacuum line or something simple I hate taking it anywhere to have them look at it
