Speedodmeter Problems
I have just recently replaced the transmission (E4OD) in my 1990 F-450, 7.5L engine. The transmission has what I believe is a transbrake located at the tail end of the tranny?
I've also been told that the old transmission was out of a 4x4 and the rebuilt was one also.
The transmission is a rebuilt. I drove it for a week with the new transmission and everything was working great. Then my speedodmeter stopped working. Also the OverDrive light started flashing. I replaced the electronic sensor that is located right where the speedo cable enters the transmission (transbrake). I've checked the speedo cable and it is operational. I've checked all the wiring harnesses and the are all visually good.
What's odd is where the speedo cable gear slides into the housing if I look inside and even feel inside the opening I cant see the corresponding gear that the speedogear should be meshing with??? (I think that's it's the transmission shaft)
Anyway, any ideas or help would be appreciated.
