Getting ready to battle with F&I picking up my new 2022 F150 Lariat Screw 4x4 Basic 500A package this afternoon. Drive abt 5K yearly. Recommendation for best extended warranty plan and if I should even consider the maint package. By my age this may well be my last PU Truck and I don't mind doing Oil changes myself. 5,000 mile a year driver also. Really disappointed did not arrive with parking sensors as was dropped in the build over chips shortage I suppose. NO Start stop though!!! Love that!
We did the Ford ESP on my wife's 2021 F150. While it is still under warranty we have already had to replace the main computer right after we got it due to the quality issues they have had with the supply chain shortages. With all the electronics on these new vehicles today, I worry a lot more about the $5000+ computer going bad than I do about most of the mechanical items. That being said, I think it is worth the piece of mind if you are planning on keeping it past the initial warranty, which sounds like you probably will.
I would also say that is a negotiable item if you push back hard on them.
Go for the Ford Premium ESP that covers everything for the maximum number of years and miles.
As far as maintenance goes, just use your local repair shop that you trust.
Check out Flood Ford, Lombard Ford, or Ziegler online for the best Ford backed ESP price.
After you get the quotes, it wouldn’t hurt to ask your selling dealer if they can match it and yes, it’s the same Ford backed ESP that they sell so don’t let them tell you otherwise.

Also, stay away from 2nd and 3rd party ESP’s.
bingo
all three offer same ford esp plans and they are mucho dinero less
and just maybe your dealer will match or beat the prce
my dealer was made aware of my quote from zeigler and they did not want to loose a sale for esp so they beat them. fiance lady said a sale is a sale and she was not going to be beat, so she took 50 dollars off my quote
1650.00 buckarooos 84 months 100k miles plus lighting, enhanced rental and key fob replacements 40 dollars per day rental 100 dollar deductible
was going to go 8 years but i figure it will be gone by then, best part is the refund from ford esp on the 21 250 i traded in just about covered the cost. we pay the warranty as a separate deal so its not in the loan

So in your other post, I missed the fact that you ordered a 500A package Lariat. The Park Assist was part of the CoPilot 360 ACTIVE 2.0 package and it was only available in the high package 502A Lariat and the other higher trim levels. Your salesman should have directed you to the high package if you emphasized needing the Parking Sensors. Too bad he didn't do that.
I just picked up my '22 Lariat last week and I went in with quotes from the online Ford dealers (Grainger Ford and Flood Ford) for the Ford Extended Service Plan. My dealer said he couldn't match their price but he did drop his price significantly so I went with my dealer on that and worked the cost of the Premium Extended Service Plan into my financing. He also pushed an alternate plan at me but it was still more expensive and I wanted the Ford plan because it is recognized and accepted at all Ford dealers. I can't say that is the case for the other plan. By the way, if you want to pay for the extended service plan outright, you can't beat Grainger or Flood pricing for th eFord Extended Service Plan..

**Thanks Ross for clarifying...Indeed my salesman was a schmuck or incompetent as he said I would get the front parking sensors but even doing a deep dive in the build it is hard to understand what ford actually means - try deciphering their tow packages! LOL. I *thought I had it covered by ordering both the 360 camera packager 2.0 and also included the tow package and 360 camera's? Apparently not. Hopefully I can find an after market kit for front parking sensors for both this 22 Lariat and my new 2021 Bronco also! Thanks for your help. I will be shopping for extended warranty also, as soon as I figure out what is not covered in the 5 year powertrain warranty that piggybacks the 3 year bumper to bumber.

I pulled up the 2022 F-150 Order Guide and see that for the Lariat 500A (your truck), the CoPilot 360 ASSIST 2.0 was an option that included Ford's "Forward Sensing System" which detects objects/walls in front of the vehicle when parking, etc. Your salesman really screwed that up for you; it would have been such an easy add on. I would be upset, too. Good luck on finding an after market system. I know I put one on my wife's Fusion a few years ago that was relatively inexpensive and an easy install, though it only had one sensor.
