I would appreciate some help with diagnosing this intermittent issue.
Once or twice out of say 10 times after starting my engine for 10-15 seconds my windows, radio or AC won't work. There may be other electrical items that don't work, these are just the ones I know about. At the end of the 10-15 seconds everything works normal from there on.
I'm baffled. Thanks in advance for your help.

I would be interested in this as well, once in a while as i fire up the truck my windows and radio will not work, after several second they come on and everything works as it should
SC_Dave and Listor,
Both of you,
You need to interrogate the ignition switch
Early Taurus was the worst for this
After the key returns from start and say the radio or HVAC does not work
Wiggle the key around ever so slightly (as to not turn the vehicle off)
See if the accessories do not magically start working
Indicating your ignition switch is faulty
Replace the switch and done (easier said than done)
Good luck
I replaced the Ignition Slide Switch and the Key Cylinder Switch. Still having the same issue. It's very odd but that seems to be the order of the day for me right now. I would appreciate and suggestions especially from anyone who may have cured this problem.

Was it a Ford ignition switch?
Lets go over your problem once again
You start the truck and have no accessories (intermittently) for several seconds?
Perform a wiggle test on the wires at the ignition switch
You had the switch out and replaced
You checked for pulled out or loose pins?
An intermittent power feed into the switch or the switch itself is about the only part that would cause your symptom IMO
A bad ground is possible, a relay is possible
Need to look at a power and ground distribution diagram in the EVTM and see what relays are in the circuit for the radio & HVAC

If I remember correctly and don't have my wires crossed (no pun intended)there is a fues tied to this. Accessory delay circuit or something like that in the fuse list. Could be as simple as some corrosion on the fuse or contacts. Or I could be in left field and thinking of a different vehicle entirely.
Notice that all the trucks having this issues are 2002's. 2002/2003 trucks don't have a GEM, they have a VSM and a hybrid electronic instrument cluster that contains the accessory delay relay. The VSM and the hybrid cluster work together and the radio and windows are just one of the things that can be affected by either component failing.
