1 simple chafed wire in the many looms of spaghetti (that powers features no guy would use). Hell I got a TV in my backs seat???!!!
Stink, Stank or Stunk, if you smelled wires burning, and it wasn't the alt. Or did the shtink cause your alt to fail. Be prudent on your loom hunt, If your still under-volt, you could make this very expensive.
Checked the truck again today and the voltage at idle is about 14.0. Amps are still cranking around 25 with A/C and that 1000 watt radio amp on. My Giotto AutoEnginuity reader is crapping out too. Keeps DC'ing from the truck. Still have the voltage desired at alternator at -1.80 volts. I'll get some time to dig around tomorrow. Who knows, might get lucky. I think the hot electrical smell was the alternator. I took a good whiff of it after I took it off and it was pretty burned. I'v not smelled anything since.
