360 vs 390…. Again

Hi all. I just popped the (dented with a hole) oil pan off of what I thought was a 360 f100 4x4. But now I’m not so sure. I think it’s a 390 but confirmation would be great. I can take more pictures if need be

The engine is def not a truck engine and from the crank is a 390 from 63. I found the block casting and can’t tell exactly how to decipher.

Shows '63 390 for crank:
https://www.fordification.com/tech/c...rs-FEcrank.htm

Block C3AE 6015 H seems to be a 390 service block, possibly for 390 PI engines.

They would all be car blocks as the FE wasn't in light trucks yet in '63. Not that car and light truck blocks differed much even at the end.

No cross bolts on the mains so no 427....

C2AE main cap = All flavors of FE mains, 2 bolt.

C1AE A rods are supposed to be the long rod as found in the 352/360.

I can't tell the difference in the images I can find and you never know if an internet image is really "right".

Depending on the piston, a long rod would work on top of the 390 stroke.

Can you measure the bore in any way?

What are the numbers on the heads and intake?

As OEM, a '63 390 might have been a 9.4 or 9.6 compression depending on 2V or 4V. Earlier and later engines got into the mid 10s.
