Hey, I have a 1966 F100, it’s Wimbledon White now but was a slightly darker cream color originally which is still visible on the interior No idea why the previous owner didn’t respray the original color.
Behind the grill it’s a mixture of the darker cream and the Wimbledon White as the the previous owner didn’t remove the grill and just sprayed through the grill even over the horn. It looks terrible. I want to paint it black but don’t know where to end the black as the engine bay is the darker cream.
Did a ‘66 ever have black behind the grill if the engine bay is the exterior color?
thanks
Gary
Do a little research if you are going to remove the grille it ain't as simple as it looks. Bumper has to come off. You probably need to remove the upper grille, grille and the stone deflector together. If it hasn't been off before wire brush and lube all the bolt threads sticking through those clip nuts, some of those clip nuts are hard to get at if they break and start spinning.

Yeah thanks I’ve read a few threads about the grill and had a go last week but the two bolts behind the headlight bezel stamped me and I ran out time. I think if I remove the four bolts running along the top and drill out the two behind the bezel I can pivot the grill enough forward to spray panel behind the grill?
