Is there castor angle built in on the beam axle on my 1947 half ton . Is it possible to fit the axle round the wrong way by mistake? I have an issue and need help please.
I have massive wedges between spring and axle to achieve self cantering steering and straight line stability, I mean 1/2 inch at least. I have never removed the axle completely but lowered one side at a time to get the wedges in and it occurred to me someone in the past may have assembled the nearside / offside stub axles to the wrong end of the axle , rotate it and fitted it incorrectly IF the axle has castor built in. What do you think?
