Hi all,
I was wondering if the chrome bumper on a 2021 F-150 is any wider than the plain jane black bumper? I'm really disappointed in how narrow the rear bumper on my XL is. I haven't fallen but I don't have huge feet, size 11, and always feel like I am slipping off because it's so narrow.
Anybody have an aftermarket rear bumper they recommend? Any photos to share?
Can anyone recommend an aftermarket rear bumper that will give me a better foot hold while stepping up? Maybe somebody has a bed step that they could share some pictures? I've been wondering if a bed step would solve my issues. The stock bumper is so narrow. I certainly can't get my foot planted well, especially at the corners when the bed is down. I've looked at ladders too. What are your thoughts? 2021 F150 Supercab XL 4x4
The tailgate bed step is one of those things I thought I didn't want, but now that I have it, I find I use it all the time and really like it. Agree there's not much room for your feet at the corner of the bumper when the tailgate is down.

Yeah now I'm wishing I had one, or that the standard tailgate had provisions for it and you could just buy and stick it in but it doesn't. I'm not even that old but these trucks are so high up that climbing in and out is rough
The GM corner step is a simple answer, but it must be patented since no one has copied it.
The fold down aftermarket steps might be worth looking into. I will find a link later.
Ram I believe has a 'flip out' corner step. I'm pretty sure someone is building an aftermarket one as well. Not an ideal solution but if you don't have the tailgate step it can work.
