I've done some forum searching but haven't produced much information. I think I'm interested in some sort of hood protection. Got my first paint chip after our road trip last week. Looked at the Ford accessory stick on, Weathertech stick on and thats about it.
Anyone have any recommendations? I'm not looking for a 90's style bug deflector we all seemed to have had at one time, just something low profile.
I wonder how many owners out there look at their trucks as trucks? I thought about rock chips etc., read the comments on hood protectors/films etc. and have come to the conclusion of the fact my truck is a truck and is gonna get an owie or two. The numbers guy at the dealership sealed the deal for me when he tried to upsell with a $1,500 "paint protection scheme". No matter how much I pay to protect my truck, I accept the fact it is going to be used and no attempt on my part is going to keep it perfectly new forever. Sorry for the rambling, but...

Ours is a truck.. 90% of it's miles so far are towing, it hauls big dogs, dead deer, etc... Still want it to look nice and want to take care of it. It WILL last longer if cared for.
AVS Aeroskin. It's all I've used on several trucks since it was introduced. Now I use Aeroskin II. https://www.autoventshade.com/aeroskin-ii
In the link provided by cpobst in post #3, there's a pic of my truck. Post #12 in that thread.

When I bought my 2019, the dealer was pushing this "ceramic" Turtle wax product... Today only.. for $650....
I looked at the product on Amazon while there... I forget the price. Some new synthetic "nano particle" stuff. like $29 for enough to do the truck several times....
I bought that. And did the truck with it according to the directions. Easy.
And I use Meguires Waterless wash and wax all the time. I have a hand wash car wash near me and for $10 they wash my truck. I hit it with the waterless Maguires after.... The Turtle wax nano stuff once a year.
3 years and 36,000 miles in...Water beads up in the rain...Paint feels as smooth as day one... Looks as good as new... 3 winters worth of salt.
I have 2 or 3 tiny chips from the highway and maybe 2 small rock chips in the windshield.
One time I drove over freshly milled pavement and ended up with tar all down the side of the truck... It felt like sand paper.
After researching products... I used WD40 and those blue shop towels in a box they sell at Napa... I sprayed the WD right on the truck and worked it with the rag... some finger nail work.... It all came off... good as new.. washed the truck and rewaxed it... None the worse for wear.
But I can understand people spending 70 grand and up and wanting to maintain the value.
A lot are not work trucks but are towing big campers...People have way over $100,000.00 invested....
Worth taking care of......
