F250 with P1000 code

Hey,

I have a 2001 F250 5.4 2WD and it has a P1000 code. I have driven 4000 miles since I got the truck and the code is not going away. What causes this?

You’re scanning it before it completed its drive cycle.

Well the truck has been in this state for 4000 miles now, when will it complete its drive cycle?

It's probably a Federal emissions truck with an OBD1 calibration. Look at the emissions compliance sticker underside of hood and see. If so, it will never clear the P1000.

IOW, don't worry about it if it is OBD1.

For those that are in smog parts. Do you get an exempt sticker or something? Cause there was no official smog guidelines for excursions until 2008.
From what i gather the excursion falls under the Medium-Duty Passenger Vehicles or MDPV category (8,500 and 10,000 lbs GVWR SUV's and are used for personal transportation).
