Instrument Viltage Regulator

For my ‘85 F-150 351 V8 4WD I have accumulated 3 instrument Voltage Regulators and want to test before installing any one of them. Does anyone know any SPECS and how to test it ???

The body is grounded, power in on 1 of the lugs and power out on the other.
IIRC about half of 12 volts.

The voltage will turn on and off like a turnsignal flasher. If it does that, its working.
