We stayed a week at the North Fork Campground and really enjoyed it. But is a bit far from the Yellowstone entrance at 40 some miles.

I think most pull throughs would work. We had site #85, and I had room to park my truck at either end with my 36’ fifth wheel. I did go the wrong way on the loop to get my door towards the picnic table, but saw plenty of others doing that also.

Our 5th is 43' long, 3 feet beyond all the state parks limits around here. Wasn't until AFTER it was in my drive that I discovered that part. Now when I make reservations I have to verify it will fit. With the slides out it is 13' wide.

Do they actually prohibit longer ones, or is that the max length they show? Reason I ask is, we've stayed at one that said 35' and when you get there it is a 35' pad and there is nothing close behind the backstop, you could have easily put a 45' one in the site. There doesn't seem to be any standardization on site measurements, I found after talking to fellow campers over the years. You might call or drop by one if you are in the area to check the real world measurements. If they have photos of campsites, you can sometimes get a better idea on fitment.

On edit; it does look like Illinois does say 40' and under. I wonder what they do if you say 40', but are over, do they actually check? I checked a couple of random state parks and it sure looks like a 50' rv could fit in easily in some spots.

Google Earth also works well if you have any doubt you may not fit. I use it all the time when I'm concerned about the spot being too short. Ours is 41.5 and will fit in most of the spots at Buffalo Bill campground. I like being close to Cody as well. And some sites have water and power which is rare compared to the state parks where I live. Happy camping!

Of the ones we have been to, 40' is 40'. We had a 28' and was tight at a couple places. Our trailer would be sticking out in the road IF I could even get it in a slot.

Watch out for the monkeypox, seems like the latest thing coming around.

Some year I would like to take a trip there, but we are glampers, not campers. Got to have AC or I can't sleep.
Glampers here too. Leaving tomorrow for Yellowstone. We have reservations.

We are glampers also. We like water and electric, and on site sewer and Wi-Fi if available. The trick for Yellowstone is to camp at commercial campgrounds on the fringes of Yellowstone. Gardiner is not an option this year, but West Yellowstone is decently located on the western border.
