Any ideas/opinions on whether or not a 2015 Ecoboost V6 F150 4x4 is a good first truck/vehicle. I like the fuel mileage and the power is enough for me. The purchase price seems a little steep though (18-30 thousand). I'm thinking that it might be better to go with this year of pickup and the higher purchase price will be justified because i wont be spending a bunch of time/money wrenching on it and filling it up with gas like i might be doing with a 20-30 year old truck. Am i wrong for thinking this way or does it make sense?
Yeah, it's a good truck. 6 speed transmission is solid. The 3.5 EB is over powered for a high school kid in my opinion, easy to get into expensive ticket territory.
If you're a HS aged person and you can afford a truck like this then you should have what ever you want.
Haha, well, i'm no rich kid but i've got nothing against working hard and paying the truck off asap but i'll still look around for one under 20 grand. I'm mostly wondering if getting a truck like this will save me time/money (repair costs and gas) in the long run as opposed to something cheaper but older.
The non turbo V6 is another good option. You'd be hard pressed to tell a difference between it and a 4.6 V8 just by driving one. On the other hand, the older gen F150 with a 4.6 is hard to beat and the 4.6 is one of the best engines out there.
