Here might be the problem, by default express blocks attachments that can potentially damage your system but found about a month ago that i was having the same problem with legitment files so here is how i fixed it open up outlook express, goto tools and then to options and then click on the security tab. In there you will find a box that is check mark saying that it i will block attachments that could potentially damage your system. If you uncheck it you will not have that problem anymore but remember that you will now have to use common sense and only open up files from people you know or trust. Hope this helps...
Keep Outlook, it comes with Microsoft Office anyway and it has many more features and customizable options. It configures with Noton Virus software and you can interchange with the other versions of Office.
Eudora works fine with norton, it also works fine with all my browsers (IE, Mozilla, and Opera) and my non MS office software (Star office). I can't tell you if it works with MS office since I don't use it.
Its all in the way you configure your system, I use "Outlook" with Symantec antivirus corporate edition along with router/firewall/VPN. I have four different email accounts along with client web mail accounts.
When Im just using my system for games, email, surfing around I login as "restricted user" its only when I make system changes I login as "administrator".
I use different levels also, it is just better to avoid those programs that are subject to catching diseases. The more email "traffic" that you have the more chances you have of catching something even b4 Norton can update your system. Most users do not protect their systems properly, so the more roadblocks you can set up the better.
