Wire connectors

Hey, anyone ever use those wire splicers were you just put both cut ends of the wire in either side sqeeze a metal piece and close the cover?? Do they really work?

use solder

always solder wires because they jiggle going down road.
scotch locks are against my advice.
if they don't fit wire right they can become loose.
what are you wiring?

Am going to be removing the shift motor off the transfer case, and i was told i might have to cut a wire then splice it, but if i can figure out how to remove the wire i will do that. But these connecters are supposingly water tight as well

Solder the wires back and insulate the solder joint with shrink
tubing.....

Only need to cut the brown wire on the clutch

The speed sensor pulls out easily from the case and magnet will be coated with metal. Strongly advise that you splice in a watertight plug in connector for the clutch wire. You will likely have to remove the motor again in a year or two.

And get a thermostat. They fail in Explorers like cray. A stuck open thermostat reaches nearly normal temperature in summer.
